Motorola launched the Moto G Play (2023) smartphone back in December 2022. The device arrived with a 6.5-inch display featuring Helio G37 SoC, 3GB of RAM, a 16MP triple-camera setup, and a 5MP selfie camera. Now, it appears that the Moto G Play (2023) is soon getting a successor in the form of the Moto G Play (2024). While the Lenovo-owned company is yet to confirm the launch date of the Moto G Play (2024), we already have its specifications and renders courtesy of OnLeaks in collaboration with the folks at Smartmania.
Moto G Play (2024) To Feature 90Hz Display, 50MP Camera
The renders published by Smartmania reveal that the upcoming Moto G Play (2024) will feature a punch-hole display. The display panel will have thinner bezels on the sides, while the chin below the screen will remain extra-wide. The power and volume keys will be located on the right edge of the device.
The bottom of the handset will include a USB Type-C port, speaker grille and microphone, while the 3.5mm audio jack will be located at the top of the device. The smartphone will also have a fingerprint scanner on the side, which will be embedded in a power button.
Moving onto the specifications, the Moto G Play (2024) will boast a 6.5-inch display, which will have a Full HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The phone will be powered by a Qualcomm processor. The smartphone will be available in 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage configuration. It will also have a microSD card slot for the storage expansion beyond 64GB.
The Motorola phone will feature a single 50MP single camera at the back, instead of the triple-camera setup which we saw on the Moto G Play (2023). The 50MP primary camera will be capable of recording the 4K videos. For selfies and video-calling purposes, the handset will sport an 8MP camera. The whole package will draw a power from a 5,000mAh battery.
On the software side of things, the device will run Android 13 out of the box. The smartphone will be available in several colour variants for purchase. As for the pricing, the handset will retail for around $169 (Roughly Rs 14,100). While the launch date of the device remains unknown currently, the report published by the folks at Smartmania claims that the smartphone will go official next month.
