Samsung Galaxy M02s Spotted on Google Play Supported Devices List, Confirms Rebranded Galaxy A02s

Samsung could launch the budget smartphone as the Galaxy M02s in India and other markets.

Samsung could soon launch a new budget smartphone under the Galaxy M-series. The Samsung Galaxy M02s, with the model number SM-M025F, has been spotted on the Google Play supported devices list. The listing does not explicitly reveal any details. However, the Galaxy M02s listed on the support list page has the codename “a02q”. This means that the Galaxy M02s could simply be a rebranded version of the Galaxy A02s in some markets. Samsung unveiled the Galaxy A02s earlier this year alongside the Galaxy A12. The budget smartphone could be launched in India and other markets as the Galaxy M02s. Let’s take a look at the Samsung Galaxy M02s specifications, features, and other details.

Samsung Galaxy M02s could launch as rebranded Galaxy A02s

The Google Play supported devices listing of the Galaxy M02s does not give us many details of the smartphone. However, the device’s codename is a02q, which is the same as the Galaxy A02s launched in November. This means that Samsung could launch the Galaxy M02s as a rebranded version of the Galaxy A02s.

Previously, it was speculated that Samsung India would soon launch the Galaxy M02. This speculation was based on the model number SM-M025F, which was spotted on the company’s support page. Turns out, Samsung could well launch the Galaxy M02s in India as the same model number (SM-M025F) has been spotted on the Google Play supported device listing.

If the Galaxy M02s is indeed a rebranded Galaxy A02s, then we already know the key specifications of the device.

Samsung Galaxy M02s specifications

Samsung Galaxy M02s is likely to feature a 6.5-inch HD+ TFT display with a water-drop notch for the 5MP front camera with an f/2.2 aperture.

Under the hood, the device could draw its power from an octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz. This processor will come paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.

The device is also likely to pack a 5,000 mAh battery found on the Galaxy A02s.

For optics, the smartphone could feature a triple-camera setup at the back. There will be a 13MP main camera, coupled with a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro lens. The notch on the top of the display would house a 5MP front camera sensor.
