Motorola is gearing up for the launch of the Edge 40 in India. The company recently launched its new premium smartphone under the Moto Edge 40 series in the European markets. The device sits below the Edge 40 Pro, which was also launched earlier this year in Europe. Motorola is yet to confirm details about the launch of the Edge 40 series in India. However, you do not need to wait any further as MySmartPrice has learnt some key details about the upcoming Edge 40 series India launch.

Our industry sources can confirm that the Moto Edge 40 5G is set to launch later this month in India.

Moto Edge 40 India Launch: What You Need to Know

Motorola recently launched the Moto Edge 40 in Europe. The affordable flagship series phone is set to make its debut soon in India. MySmartPrice can confirm that the Moto Edge 40 India launch event will be hosted in May. We currently do not have the exact launch date just yet. While we work on bringing more details on that front, our sources can confirm that the phone will be available in three colours at launch.

As seen in the images below, the Edge 40 will launch in Lunar Blue, Nebula Green and Eclipse Black colours at launch. Our sources also revealed that the Magenta colour option, which is currently available in Europe, will be available in India at a later date.

The Edge 40 will be available in two finishes — PMMA Acrylic and vegan leather. The blue colour option seems to have the PMMA Acrylic finish, whereas the green and black colours might offer a faux leather back panel.

In terms of specs, the Edge 40 5G has a 6.55-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 2400 × 1080 pixels. The 8-bit display offers support for up to 144Hz refresh rate and 1200 nits of peak brightness. It has an in-display fingerprint scanner and AI face unlock support.

The phone has a dual-camera setup on the back. It features a 50MP primary camera sensor with support for optical image stabilisation (OIS) and an f/1.4 aperture, which is the widest in any phone in the segment. There is also a 13MP ultra-wide sensor, which doubles up as a macro camera as well. For selfies, the Edge 40 has a 32MP front camera sensor.

Under the hood, the phone features a MediaTek Dimensity 8020 SoC with a Mali G77 GPU. It has been launched in Europe with 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The phone boots Android 13 out of the box and has a layer of MyUx 5 on top.

The Edge 40 packs a 4600mAh battery with support for 68W TurboPower fast charging. There is support for 15W wireless charging and 5W reverse wireless charging as well. The handset weighs about 170 grams and measures 158.43 × 71.99 × 7.58mm.
