Moto Edge 40 Receives TDRA, FCC Certification, Battery Capacity, Charging Details Revealed

Update: The Moto Edge 40 also has cleared the FCC certification. The device is listed on FCC certification with model number XT2303-1. Furthermore, the listing also reveals that the device will pack a 4,400mAh battery which will have 68.2W fast charging support.

Motorola is preparing up for the launch of the new Edge series smartphone dubbed as the Moto Edge 40. A couple of days back, we at MySmartPrice shared the renders of this upcoming smartphone along with the specifications. Additionally, this upcoming handset from Motorola made an appearance on Geekbench recently. The benchmark listing disclosed the hardware specifications of the Edge 40 ahead of the launch. Now, in a recent development, the Moto Edge 40 has received the TDRA certification.

Moto Edge 40 Receives TDRA Certification

The TDRA certification reveals the moniker as Moto Edge 40 and it also discloses the model number of the device as XT2303-2. Apart from the model number and moniker information, no other details of the handset is revealed by the TDRA certification. As per the recent leaks, the upcoming Moto Edge 40 is expected to feature a 6.55-inch pOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The handset is said to offer HDR10+ support and a 1200 nits brightness. As per the recent Geekbench test result, the phone will be powered by Dimensity 1100 SoC. However, our sources had confirmed in the past that this phone will debut with yet to be announced Dimensity 8200 processor.

Furthermore, the smartphone is expected to arrive with 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. The phone is likely to run Android 13 OS out of the box with My UX on top. In terms of imaging, the Edge 40 is rumoured to feature a dual-camera setup. The smartphone might feature a 50MP main camera which could have an OIS support and an f/1.5 aperture. Accompanying the 50MP sensor there could be a 13MP ultra-wide lens. On the frontside, the device might flaunt a 13MP selfie camera.

As far as the other specifications of the Edge 40 go, it is expected to pack a 4,400mAh battery which could offer 44W fast charging support. Additionally, the handset is expected to offer 15W wireless charging support. The smartphone is expected to be available in Lunar Blue, Nebula Green, Eclipse Black, and Magenta colour options when it launches.
