Motorola’s G7 series has been in the news a lot lately and one of the models – the Moto G7 Play has now popped up on the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) today. Next year, we will be seeing four new models of the G series – the Motorola Moto G7, Motorola Moto G7 Plus, Motorola Moto G7 Power, and Motorola Moto G7 Play. The Moto G7 Play that has appeared on the EEC today has model number XT1952-1 and will be a low-end variant of the lot.
According to images, the Moto G7 Play will feature a notch design on the front, a single rear camera on both sides, a fingerprint reader on the back along with the Moto dimple, USB Type-C, and a hybrid dual SIM slot.
If you’re concerned more with internals, one of the photos from the FCC listing shows a Snapdragon 632 SoC on board the mid-ranger which would be a welcome bump over the Snapdragon 430 in the current Moto G6 Play. The battery is revealed to be an unimpressive 2,820mAh juice pack which is a step back from the massive 4000mAh battery on the G6 Play. The bigger battery seems to be now transferred to the Moto G7 Power. Speaking of which, the handset has also appeared on the FCC portal.
The Moto G6 series was announced first in April so it could be sometime before we actually see the new models. In any case, Motorola is hard at work getting all models certified well ahead of time.
