  • The Galaxy S24 Ultra could borrow a page from Google Pixel 8’s book.
  • A new report suggests that Samsung may introduce AI-powered image editing features with its upcoming top-end flagship.
  • The Galaxy S24 Series may also feature brighter screens as compared to the Galaxy S23 Series.

Samsung is gearing up to launch its much anticipated Galaxy S24 Series in global markets. Although the company has not announced an official launch date yet, reports suggest that Samsung may have scheduled its Galaxy Unpacked Event for January 17, 2024.

Ahead of its launch, a new leak has surfaced online revealing the AI capabilities of Samsung’s upcoming flagship. Twitter user @MysteryLupin has posted an image, which suggests that the Galaxy S24 Ultra could get a Generative Edit feature.

The description of the feature mentions that users will be able to move or remove objects from an image. It will also allow users to fill in empty spaces using AI. However, the feature will require an internet connection.

If that sounds familiar, that’s because the functionality of this Generative Edit feature appears to be similar to Google’s Magic Editor found on Pixel devices. While the Pixel uses the AI and ML capabilities of Google’s in-house Tensor chipset, the Galaxy S24 Ultra could highly benefit from the recently launched Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.

Other features mentioned in the image include Live Translate, which will translate any foreign language directly on the device. The Galaxy S24 Ultra may also get a feature called Nightography Zoom, which could enhance images shot during nighttime. It could also offer some extra zoom capabilities while preserving details in the image.

Samsung is expected to announce several AI-based features with its upcoming Galaxy S24 Series. Previous leaks suggest that the Galaxy Unpacked Event may introduce Galaxy AI, which Samsung has been teasing for a while.

Samsung announced Galaxy AI in November 2023, calling it the next big leap in Samsung smartphones. The company said that Galaxy AI would launch in early 2024. The features mentioned by Samsung during that press release align well with the latest leak by MysteryLupin.

The Galaxy S24 Series is expected to launch with the same lineup of three devices: the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and the Galaxy S24 Ultra. A previous report from IceUniverse mentions that Samsung could provide a huge upgrade to the telephoto lens of the Galaxy S24 Ultra, offering a 50MP sensor with 5x optical zoom.

Another notable upgrade expected on the Galaxy S24 Ultra is the titanium frame. However, Samsung may continue using aluminium on the base model Galaxy S24 and the Galaxy S24+.
