The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is one of the highly anticipated flagships of 2024 and the launch will likely take place in January. The device is expected to get an upgraded periscope lens, along with an overclocked version of the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Tipster Ice Universe has now reported that the Galaxy S24 Ultra could support 50MP photos at 5x optical zoom.
This could be a major upgrade as zoomed-in shots on the current Galaxy S23 Ultra are limited to 12MP. The specifications sheet of the entire Galaxy S24 Series has also been reportedly leaked online.

Massive Camera Upgrade Spotted on the Upcoming Galaxy S24 Ultra
Ice Universe has posted an image on Weibo with the EXIF data of a 5x zoomed-in image from the Galaxy S24 Ultra. It reveals that the device will be capable of capturing photos at a full 50MP resolution of 6120 x 8160 pixels in zoomed-in shots.
This also means that Samsung may have upgraded the telephoto camera on the Galaxy S24 Ultra from 10MP to 50MP. This upgrade will result in better-quality images with more details. The change was also previously reported by RGCloudS and other notable tipsters.
To recall, the Galaxy S23 Ultra features a 10MP telephoto lens and a 10MP periscope lens. Using a combination of these lenses with the primary sensor, the device is capable of shooting images with 10x optical zoom, but the resolution is limited to 4000 x 3000 pixels which translates to 12MP.
According to a leaked spec sheet of the upcoming Galaxy S24 Series, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to continue using a 200MP primary camera. The device may feature quad telephoto lenses with 2x, 3x, 5x, and 10x zoom respectively.
It also mentions that the Galaxy S24 Ultra could get a titanium frame, just like the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max. However, the Galaxy S24 and S24+ shall still use an Aluminium frame.
As per tipster EvLeaks, Samsung has scheduled its Galaxy Unpacked Event for January 17, 2024. The company is expected to unveil the Galaxy S24 Series, Galaxy Notebook upgrades, and some Galaxy AI features. Samsung has not confirmed the official launch date yet.
The Galaxy S23 Ultra was launched in India for Rs 1,24,999. Considering the huge upgrades in camera, the new flagship Qualcomm chipset, and the titanium frame, we can expect the Galaxy S24 Ultra pricing to start at around Rs 1,35,000. Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S24 Series in India at the same time as its global launch.
