OnePlus 8T Receives Price Cut in India, Here’s Much it Costs Now

The OnePlus 8T is now up for sale at its lowest ever price of Rs 38,999 in India, down from the Rs 42,999 price tag that it was launched at.

The OnePlus 8T has received a new price cut in India. After its prices were reduced at the launch of the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro, the OnePlus 8T has gotten a second official price cut. The latest price cut has reduced its official price by Rs 1,000 for both its variants, ahead of the launch of a new Nord smartphone under its lineup. The latter is expected to launch in the mid-premium segment, which the first generation OnePlus Nord helped make popular. The latter has helped OnePlus renew the ‘flagship killer’ title that it popularised, and with its new price cut, OnePlus is further differentiating its offerings among a wider price range.

OnePlus 8T: new price in India

The OnePlus 8T is now priced at Rs 38,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant, and Rs 41,999 for the 12GB + 256GB variant. The two variants were so far priced at Rs 39,999 and Rs 42,999 respectively, and were launched at Rs 42,999 and Rs 45,999 in 2020. The new prices of the phone are now live on OnePlus India as well as Amazon India.

The OnePlus 8T is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC, which is the flagship chipset that powered premium Android phones last year. It has 8GB or 12GB of RAM, and 128GB or 256GB native storage. Up front, it gets a 6.55-inch full HD+ AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, with a drill-hole slot that accommodates a 16MP front camera.

To the rear, the device features a quad camera setup, which includes a 48MP primary unit, an 8MP ultra-wide unit, a 5MP macro unit and a 2MP monochrome unit. The setup is powered by a 4,500mAh battery with 65W fast charging. There is also an in-display fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers, and the standard connectivity features (but barring 5G).

The OnePlus 8T is now slightly cheaper than the newer mid-premium range OnePlus 9R. The latter features the Snapdragon 870 SoC and a newer camera setup, but minus the Hasselblad smarts that the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro get.
