OnePlus is rumoured to launch the 9RT later this month. The company has already confirmed that there will be no OnePlus 9T or 9T Pro launching this year and the company will instead launch new flagship phones in 2022. There is no official word on the 9RT’s launch at the moment. However, the rumour mill has been claiming that OnePlus will unveil its affordable flagship smartphone in October. Adding to the list of leaks is another one from tipster Digital Chat Station. The tipster reiterated some of the previous leaks and stated that OnePlus will launch the 9RT in October.

DCS further stated that the OnePlus phone will launch with Android 11-based ColorOS 12 system out of the box. The company has already rolled out Android 12-based OxygenOS 12 for users in India. Therefore, it is unclear if the tipster is referring to the China-specific variant of the 9RT.

Moving on, DCS further claims that OnePlus will launch the device with a 4,500 mAh battery under the hood. We have seen the same battery capacity on the 9R launched earlier this year in India. Much like its predecessor, the 9RT will also support 65W fast charging.

In addition to this, OnePlus’ next affordable flagship will come with a Snapdragon 888 SoC under the hood. It will feature a Full HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate support. The display will have a hole-punch cutout on the top left corner. In terms of optics, the 9RT is rumoured to feature a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor. It is likely to sport a triple-camera setup on the back with an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP macro/ monochrome sensor.

Under the hood, the device will get an upgrade as well. It is said to feature a Snapdragon 888 SoC, which offers slightly better performance than the Snapdragon 870 found on the 9R. We have already spotted the device on Geekbench with the same processor. You can click here to know more about the same.
