OnePlus Buds 3 Clears FCC Certification; Design, Battery Capacity and Charging Details Revealed Before Launch

Lately, OnePlus has been creating headlines thanks to its audio department. Recently, the company teased their first speaker with a transparent design, and this morning, we got our first look at the OnePlus AI Music Studio, an AI tool that allows the creation of music with the help of AI. Now, the team at MySmartPrice has spotted the forthcoming OnePlus Buds 3 on the FCC certification website with the E509A model number.

The listing on the FCC certification confirms the device’s moniker and gives a sneak peek into its design. The drawings of the OnePlus Buds 3 resonate with the renders we leaked last month. It confirms that the company is sticking with the same design language we saw in the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 launched earlier this year.

Moreover, it also confirms the charging specifications of the device. As per the listing, the case will have a 520mAh Battery with (5V=0.9A) 4.5W Input
(5V=0.24A) 1.2W Output support, and the Typical Capacity of 525mAh 1.995Wh. The buds will have a 58mAh battery.

OnePlus Buds 3 Specifications

Regarding specifications, the OnePlus Buds 3 is set to feature a 10.4mm woofer and a 6mm tweeter. Similar to its predecessor, the Buds 3 will incorporate 48dB Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) support. Additionally, these earbuds will possess an IP55 rating for water and dust resistance, while the case will carry an IPX4 rating. Concerning other features, the earbuds will support Bluetooth v5.3, Google Fast Pair, and dual connections.

The earbuds will deliver the same 9 hours of battery life as the Buds Pro 2 when ANC is turned off. With the case, the Buds 3 will offer a combined battery life of 33 hours. When ANC is activated, the earbuds will sustain 6 hours of usage, extending to 22 hours with the case. It will also support fast charging; a brief 10-minute charge will provide 5 hours of listening time.

Currently, there is no information available regarding the debut date for these upcoming TWS earbuds. Given that the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 were launched alongside the OnePlus 11 earlier this year, it is expected that the Buds 3 will be introduced alongside the OnePlus 12 next year. The OnePlus 12 is anticipated to be released in India and the global market in January 2024.
