Back in May, we learned that OnePlus is working on a pair of truly wireless earphones and that they will launch in July, thanks to a leak from Max J. Last month, the same leakster revealed that these upcoming TWS earphones from the brand will be called the OnePlus Buds. A couple of days ago, Max J leaked the renders of the OnePlus Buds, which showed that these TWS earphones have an in-ear design. But that is about it. We haven’t had any other information or confirmation regarding the OnePlus Buds so far.
Well, we now have some news regarding the OnePlus Buds. We have spotted the OnePlus Buds on SGS Fimko certification platform, confirming the existence of the product and also revealing a few specifications of these upcoming TWS earphones from the brand. Let us have a look.
OnePlus Buds (E501A) get SGS Fimko certification
The SGS Fimko certification that we are talking about states that it is for ‘Wireless Bluetooth Earphones’ from OnePlus bearing the model number E501A. Now, the only upcoming wireless earphones from OnePlus that we know of are the OnePlus Buds. So, the OnePlus E501A mentioned in the certification is most probably the OnePlus Buds. Moreover, one of our sources at the industry has confirmed that the E501A is indeed the upcoming OnePlus Buds (as you can see in the image below).
The image that our source has shared also shows the input and output power of the charger (most probably the charging case) that the OnePlus Buds will ship with. As you can see in the image, the charger has a 7.5W input (from USB cable) and a 1.56W output (to earbuds). The SGS Fimko certification further confirms this information. According to it, the OnePlus Buds have 7.5W charging.
So, we now have a confirmation that OnePlus Buds do exist and we also know its model number as well. The OnePlus Buds are expected to launch alongside the OnePlus Nord on July 21. Do let us know in the comments below what features do you want the OnePlus Buds to bring.
