OnePlus launched its first Nord Buds in 2022, and this year, in April, the company unveiled its second iteration. It is a budget TWS that offers up to 36 hours of playtime on a single charge with the case and equips a 12.4mm Dynamic driver with the BassWave algorithm. Now, the company is preparing to launch the third generation called the Nord Buds 3. Although the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has kept all the details about the upcoming TWS under wraps, MySmartPrice, in partnership with the reliable leakster OnLeaks, is revealing 5K Renders of the Nord Buds 3.
OnePluds Nord Buds 3 Design
As depicted in the images, the TWS will feature an oval-shaped case this time, departing from the boxy design of its predecessors. The earbuds will showcase a new design, moving away from sharp edges to adopt a smooth, rounded style. The overall design is simple and minimalistic, with a glossy lid on top and a matte finish on the rest of the case, adorned with OnePlus branding on the front.
Similarly, the company is gearing up to reveal its flagship Buds 3. Recently, we identified the device on the BIS and FCC certification websites under the E509A model number. Regrettably, the BIS certification did not disclose any specifications but strongly suggests an imminent launch in the Indian market.
Conversely, the FCC certification provided a sneak peek into its design and charging specifications. According to the listing, the case will house a 520mAh battery with (5V=0.9A) 4.5W Input and (5V=0.24A) 1.2W Output support, boasting a Typical Capacity of 525mAh (1.995Wh). The earbuds themselves will be powered by a 58mAh battery.
Additionally, we obtained renders and key specifications of the upcoming Buds 3, thanks to the same tipster. The OnePlus Buds 3 will feature a 10.4mm woofer and a 6mm tweeter. Like its predecessor, the Buds 3 will incorporate 48dB Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) support. Furthermore, these TWS will possess an IP55 rating for water and dust resistance, while the case will carry an IPX4 rating. Regarding other features, the earbuds will support Bluetooth v5.3, Google Fast Pair, and dual connections.
The TWS is expected to deliver the same 9 hours of battery life as the Buds Pro 2 when ANC is turned off. With the case, the Buds 3 are projected to offer a combined battery life of 33 hours. When ANC is activated, the earbuds are anticipated to sustain 6 hours of usage, extending to 22 hours with the case. They will also support fast charging; a brief 10-minute charge will provide 5 hours of listening time.
