Oppo is gearing up for the launch of its first foldable smartphone. We have been learning new details about the company’s first foldable device since the last few months. According to the Chinese tipster WHYLAB, the Oppo foldable phone is in the work with the model number PEUM00. The device was previously spotted at MIIT certification. The screenshot of the MIIT certification was posted by WHYLAB on Weibo a few days back. Now, the same handset which carries the model number as PEUM00 is spotted on Geekbench. The Geekbench listing details the specifications of the speculated Oppo foldable phone ahead of the launch. Apart from Geekbench, the device is also spotted on the Camera FV-5 website, which lists the camera specifications of the handset.
Oppo Foldable Phone Specifications Revealed
Speaking about the Geekbench listing first, the possible Oppo foldable phone (PEUM00) will be powered by Snapdragon 888 processor. The device will pack 12GB of RAM. As for the software, the handset will boot Android 11 out of the box. In the benchmark test result, the Oppo foldable phone has managed to record 925 and 3,364 points in the single-core test and multi-core test respectively. Moving onto the details listed by the Camera FV-5 website, the Oppo foldable phone will feature a 12.6MP sensor. The 12.6MP camera will have an f/1.8 aperture, maximum resolution of 4096×3072 pixels, OIS, and EIS support. Considering this camera information, we can expect the handset to capture a 50MP image with the help of four-in-one pixel binning.
Coming to the selfie camera information, it will be of 8.1MP as per the Camera FV-5 website. The 8.1MP sensor will have a resolution of 3280×2464 pixels, f/2.4 aperture, and EIS support. We can expect the front-facing camera to capture 32MP photos. If the previously leaked specifications are to be believed, the Oppo foldable phone will flaunt an 8-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The device is expected to feature an in-ward folding design as that of the Galaxy Z Fold 3. The smartphone is tipped to pack a 4,500mAh battery as per the past leak. The handset is rumoured to offer 65W fast charging support.
As of now the launch date of the Oppo foldable phone isn’t revealed by Oppo. However, as per the speculations, the device will launch in China at Oppo Inno Day 2021 event, which is scheduled for December 14th.
