
It’s time to cheer for Pokemon Unite fans in India as the Pokemon UNITE Championship Series 2023 Indian Qualifier has been announced with much bigger stakes ever this year. Jet Skyesports, one of the prominent esports tournament organizers from India, is the official broadcast partner for the event. They have revealed the tournament’s format, schedule, prize pool and more.
This event will decide the two teams that will fill the Indian slots at the Pokemon UNITE World Championship 2023, which is due to take place in Japan later this year. Last year’s Pokemon Unite World Championship was held in London. Revenant Esports claimed the Indian slot but the team got ruled out in the Group Stage itself. The event was won by BLVKHVND, an American organization and won $100,000.

Pokemon Unite Championship Series 2023 Indian Qualifier Details Revealed
This is an open-for-all tournament, conducted online with a bigger prize pool of $75,000. The tournament is split into three divisions, namely April Qualifier, May Qualifier, and Last Chance Qualifier. Skyesports has stated that the event will take place for three months, and is set to commence in April 2023 and conclude in June 2023. According to the announcement, a total of eight teams will qualify for the playoffs from these three stages.

The qualified teams will battle it out in the Indian playoffs stage, from which the two teams will make it to the World Championship 2023. The following details have been given about the three stages:
- April & May Qualifiers– These will be two-day events in which up to 256 teams from throughout the country will play. The top three teams from each region will advance to the India Playoffs. The prize pool for both Qualifiers will be $18,750.
- The Last Chance Qualifier- In addition to the six teams that qualified from the April and May Qualifiers, the LCQ will send two more teams to the Regional Playoffs.
The Indian Regional playoffs will feature a total prize pool of $37,500. Here is the schedule of the tournament:
- April Qualifier: 15 to 16 April
- May Qualifier: 20 to 21 May
- Last-Chance Qualifier: 3 June
- Regional Playoffs (India): 4 June

The Pokémon UNITE World Championship is set to take place in Yokohama, Japan, in August 2023. The two Indian teams will be among the 32 teams from across the world competing for a share of the $500,000 prize pool and the title of global champions.
