Motorola has confirmed the launch of a new flagship smartphone. The company will expand its Edge series lineup with the launch of the Edge X later this year. Lenovo’s General Manager confirmed the launch of the device without revealing any specifications or features. The Edge X is believed to be Motorola’s first flagship smartphone to feature Qualcomm’s next premium flagship processor, which is rumoured to launch as the Snapdragon 898 SoC. While we wait for more details, a Motorola smartphone with the model number XT2201-2 is listed on the 3C certification website. This device could well be the Motorola Edge X. Let’s take a look at the alleged Motorola Edge X 3C listing, its specs and other details.
Motorola Edge X possibly listed on 3C
Motorola Edge X launch date remains unknown at the moment. The device is likely to have been listed on the 3C certification website ahead of the launch. The Motorola smartphone listed on 3C has the model number XT2201-2. It does not confirm the moniker of the device. However, the details revealed via the 3C listing suggest that the phone is a premium offering. As per the 3C listing, the upcoming Motorola smartphone with the model number XT2201-2 will support 68.2W fast charging. So far, Motorola has launched devices with 30W fast charging speeds. The upcoming device will be the company’s fastest charging device when it gets launched.
Unfortunately, there is no word on the battery capacity. However, the Edge X could come with a 4,500 or a 5000 mAh battery. The same device will draw power from a Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 SoC if rumours are to be believed. We will have to wait for an official announcement to confirm more details of the device. Other expected specs include a 120Hz/ 144Hz AMOLED display, a 108MP triple-camera setup on the back, and up to 12GB of RAM. Motorola has not confirmed any details yet. We will advise taking the speculated specs with a pinch of salt.
