OPPO’s popular sub-brand Realme is all set to launch two new budget handsets in India on August 20. These new devices will succeed the existing Realme 3 and Realme 3 Pro handsets that the company had launched earlier this year in the country. As the case is with most Chinese players, Realme has decided not to use the number 4 appendage for its products and these new handsets will be called the Realme 5 and the Realme 5 Pro. Both these handsets are expected to be competitively priced and will give competition to existing and newer handsets from the likes of Xiaomi, ASUS, and Motorola. Until recently, we did not have any information pertaining to the specifications of the Realme 5 and the Realme 5 Pro. That is no longer the case. Realme India chief Madhav Sheth, yesterday, tweeted out the camera specifications of one of these handsets in which he clearly indicated the camera specs of the phone. If that wasn’t all a couple of publications have posted detailed specs of the Realme 5 Pro.

Let us now take a closer look at the expected specifications of the Realme 5 Pro and the Realme 5

Realme 5 Pro Expected Specifications, Features

The Realme 5 Pro, from what we know so far, is expected to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 SoC. This is a slight upgrade over the SD710 SoC that the Realme 3 Pro and the Realme X sports. The talking point of the handset, however, is the quad-camera setup at the rear that will use a 48-megapixel primary camera with Sony’s IMX 586 sensor and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with 119-degree field of view. While not confirmed yet, the Realme 3 Pro is also likely to get a 2-megapixel depth sensor and another 2-megapixel sensor for improving the portrait mode. As for the front-facing camera, the Realme 5 Pro will most likely get a 16-megapixel front-facing selfie camera. The handset is also likely to get a 6.3-inch panel with an in-display fingerprint scanner. In India, the phone is likely to be offered in three versions.

Realme 5 Expected Specifications, Features

The Realme 5 is the lower-priced of the two new Realme 5 Series devices. This handset is also likely to get a quad-camera setup at the rear. Instead of a 48MP primary camera, this lower-priced version is likely to get a lower resolution primary camera. The Realme 5 is also likely to feature a larger battery than the Realme 5 Pro but will ship with a slower VOOC charger with support for 18W fast charging. The confirmed specifications of both these devices should be out in the next few days.
