Realme is working towards the launch of the Realme 8 5G, Realme 8 Pro 5G, and the Realme 8i smartphones. The company is expected to announce the Realme 8 5G and the Realme 8i in the Indian market, as the existence of these devices was confirmed by Realme CEO a few weeks ago. Now, in a recent development, the upcoming Realme smartphone with model number RMX2205 has cleared the required TENAA certification in China. This particular model is assumed to be the Realme 8i. The TENAA listing has disclosed the specs and images of this upcoming smartphone ahead of launch.

Realme 8i (RMX2205) Clears TENAA certification

The upcoming Realme 8i smartphone is listed with model number RMX2205 in the TENAA certification database. The certification reveals that the device will feature a triple-camera setup and a Dare to Leap branding at the back. The smartphone will have a punch-hole display with the camera cutout located at the top left side of the screen. There’s no physical fingerprint sensor located at the back of the phone, nor we can’t see any mention of a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. So for now, it’s safe to assume that the device might come with an in-display fingerprint sensor, and could feature an AMOLED display.

Moving onto the specs of the Realme 8i, it is supposed to sport a 6.43-inch display. Dimensions-wise, the phone might measure at around 158.5 x 73.3 x 8.4mm. On the software front, the device is expected to run Android 11 out of the box. The whole package might be fueled by a 4000mAh battery. Connectivity-wise, the handset will have a dual-SIM and a 5G support, as revealed by TENAA certification.

For now, we don’t have any details regarding the chipset and the camera configuration the phone will offer. We can expect the device to launch in the 4GB/6GB RAM option along with either 64GB/128GB storage. The newly revealed Realme smartphone model’s design doesn’t match to that of the Realme 8 and the Realme 8 Pro. Additionally, we can’t confirm anyway as of now, if this particular handset that has gained the TENAA certification will launch as the Realme 8i only.

As the days pass, we should get to learn more details about the Realme 8i. As of now, the company has not announced any possible launch date for this particular device. However, now the phone has appeared in the TENAA database, its launch looks to be imminent soon.
