A couple of days ago, Realme CEO, Madhav Sheth, had revealed in an interview with a tech YouTuber that the brand will launch its first set of TVs in the second quarter of 2020. Today, we bring you some new information regarding the TVs from the company.
Realme TV Spotted On BIS; Will Have 55-inch Display and QLED Technology
We have spotted a certification listing of an LED TV from Realme on BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards). According to the listing, the model number of the Realme TV is JSC55LSQLED. The ‘55’ figure in the model number most probably suggests that it is a 55-inch television set and ‘QLED’ most likely suggests that the TV uses QLED technology.
As you might know, TVs with QLED technology usually have better picture quality than the ones with standalone LCD displays. However, QLED technology is also significantly costlier to integrate. Currently, the TVs from Xiaomi use IPS LCD panels, whereas, the ones from OnePlus pack QLED technology as well, due to which, the OnePlus TVs are costlier than Mi TVs.
Now that it is confirmed that Realme TVs will have QLED technology, we are expecting these TVs to compete with the ones from OnePlus, rather than that from Mi. Usually, brands send their products for certifications when their development is in the final stages. So, considering that the Realme TV has started bagging certifications from the Indian agencies, its India launch seems to be imminent.
