Xiaomi’s upcoming Redmi 8 handset has been spotted on China Telecom’s portal today. The listing gives us almost all specifications and design of the handset apart from what we already knew about it from its TENAA encounter. Xiaomi also teased the Redmi 8 in India recently when it introduced the Redmi 8A hinting that the Redmi 7 successor will be launching soon.
In China, Xiaomi has been talking of an affordable handset with a 5,000mAh battery and the Redmi 8 is exactly what the company has in mind. In fact, Xiaomi could launch both the handsets (Redmi 8A and Redmi 8) at the same time on its home turf.
Coming to the details, China Telecom mentions M1908C3IC as the model number for the Redmi 8. It has the same processor as last year’s Redmi 7 and the Redmi 8A which is the Snapdragon 439. It also has almost the same build and design and it measures 156.33×75.40×9.40 in terms of dimensions and is a bit hefty at 188g. It has a 6.21-inch HD+ display powered by a 5,000mAh battery, a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. There’s a 12MP + 2MP dual-camera setup on the rear (the Redmi 8A has a single one) and an 8MP front shooter. It will be available in Red, Green and Blue shades although we might see even more eventually.
