Xiaomi kicked off its smartphone launches in India in 2023 with the Redmi Note 12 series. The lineup featured Redmi Note 12 5G, Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G, and Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus 5G. It launched the Pro model in three configurations with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage space. The team has now refreshed the phone with a fourth variant which has become the newest top-end variant you can buy.

Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G 12GB/256GB Price and Availability

The latest Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G variant comes with 12GB of RAM and 256GB onboard storage. The announcement was made by Redmi India on its official X account. The new variant is priced at Rs 28,999 but buyers can get a Rs 3,000 instant discount with HDFC Bank credit cards, ICICI Bank credit cards, and ICICI netbanking. Xiaomi is further offering Redmi Buds 4 Active worth Rs 1,399 for Rs 1,199 if purchased together with the smartphone.

The phone can be purchased with up to 9 months No Cost EMI and there is a phone exchange discount as well. The new variant is available in Glacier Blue, Onyx Black, and Stardust Purple colours. It will be sold via Xiaomi’s online store, Flipkart, and various offline retailers across India.

Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G Specifications and Features

Xiaomi has made no changes to the new Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G variant apart from the RAM and storage capacity. The phone has a 6.67-inch Full HD+ AMOLED punch-hole display with HDR10+ and up to 120Hz refresh rate. It has an adaptive refresh rate which will automatically adjust based on the content displayed.

Under the hood, it has the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 5G processor clocked at 2.6GHz. There is an ARM Mali-G68 MC4 GPU for taking care of graphics-intensive tasks and applications. Xiaomi has packed it with a triple rear camera setup headlined by a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor with OIS. The other two cameras are an 8MP ultra-wide sensor with 120-degree FoV and a 2MP macro sensor.

The front camera on the phone is a 16MP sensor housed inside the punch-hole. It has portrait mode and can shoot videos in up to 1080p resolution at 60fps. The Redmi Note 12 Pro has a 5,000mAh battery with 67W Turbo Charge fast charging support. It is claimed to reach from 2% to 100% charge within 46 minutes.

Other noteworthy features of the phone include a 12-layer graphite sheet for cooling purposes, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, and a USB Type-C port. The phone shipped with MIUI 13 software version but was recently updated to MIUI 14. Redmi has promised two years of software updates and four years of security updates for the phone.
