We’ve been hearing quite a lot about the Redmi Note 8 and the Redmi Note 8 Pro recently, but nothing was official so far. That changes today. Xiaomi has announced it on Weibo that it will launch the Redmi Note 8 and the Redmi Note 8 Pro smartphones in China on 29th August. The announcement post on Weibo is accompanied by a teaser image revealing that the Redmi Note 8 series smartphone(s) will have a quad-camera setup with a 64MP camera being the primary.

That’s not all. Xiaomi’s sub-brand, Redmi TV, has also shared a post on Weibo showing off the first television set to launch under the sub-brand. What is interesting is that the announcement post for the TV launch has been made from the Redmi Note 8 smartphone. And this indicates that the Redmi TV might be announced at the same launch event where the Redmi Note 8 and the Redmi Note 8 are supposed to launch. There is, however, no information regarding the specifications of the Redmi TV, apart from its display size, which is said to be whopping, 70-inches.

Currently, there is no information regarding the launch date of Redmi Note 8 series smartphones and the Redmi TV for the Indian market. However, the brand might most likely reveal the Indian availability details regarding the smartphone and the TV at the launch event on 29th August.

Here Is What You Can Expect from Redmi Note 8 Series

As revealed through the official poster, the Redmi Note 8 series smartphones will feature a 64MP camera in the quad-camera setup at the rear. Currently, there is no information if the 64MP sensor will feature only in the Redmi Note 8 Pro or in the Redmi Note 8 as well.

Other leaks so far have revealed that the smartphone will feature USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm audio jack. This isn’t surprising considering that the current generation Redmi Note devices, the Redmi Note 7S, and the Redmi Note 7 Pro already have it.

Almost every new Redmi Note series smartphone has always featured a processor more powerful than the one in its predecessor. And we expect the same with the Redmi Note 8 and the Redmi Note 8 Pro. Considering that the Redmi Note 7S has Snapdragon 660 chipset, the Redmi Note 8 could offer Snapdragon 665 or Snapdragon 675. As for the Redmi Note 8 Pro, it could feature Snapdragon 710 or Snapdragon 712 chipset, considering that the Redmi Note 7 Pro packs Snapdragon 675.

The display, battery, and connectivity options of the Redmi Note 8 series smartphones could be carried over from the Redmi Note 7 series. Unfortunately, that’s all the information we have right now. Stay tuned on MySmartPrice while we dig more information regarding these devices for you.
