Alongside the Xiaomi Mi Note 10, the world’s first 108MP Penta-camera smartphone, Xiaomi has also launched the Redmi Note 8T smartphone today. The Redmi Note 8T takes a lot of features from the Redmi Note 8 with the addition of NFC support.

The Redmi Note 8T has been kept at an asking price of Eur 199 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage variant.

1. Display and design

Starting things off with the display of the device, the Redmi Note 8T comes equipped with a 6.3-inch FHD+ Dot Drop display (IPS LCD). The display gives out a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. We get an 81.7% screen to body ratio with the Redmi Note 8T. The front of the Redmi Note 8T is the same as that of the Redmi Note 8. The Redmi Note 8T comes in three color variants – Blue, White, and Black.

For protection against spills, the Redmi Note 8T comes with a splash-resistant nano-coating material.

on the top of the Redmi Note 8T, we get an IR Blaster. On the right side, we find the volume rocker and the power button. The SIM tray is on the left side. At the bottom, we find a 3.5mm headphone jack and the speaker grille.

2. Cameras

The front and the rear of the Redmi Note 8T are secured with a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Speaking of the rear, we get a vertically-aligned quad-camera setup at the back (48MP + 8MP + 2MP + 2MP) with a dual-tone LED flash sitting to the right side of the camera array. At the bottom left corner, we can see the Redmi logo. The front camera of the Redmi Note 8T is a 13MP unit which can take panorama selfies and has support for palm shutter capture.

3. Processor, memory, and battery

Moving on to the battery of the device, the Redmi Note 8T comes equipped with a big 4,000mAh battery which has up to 18W fast charging support.

Under the hood, the Redmi 8T is powered with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset based on an 11nm architecture which is coupled with up to 4GB of RAM, Adreno 610 GPU, and 128GB of internal storage.

4. NFC and connectivity

The standard Redmi Note 8 lacked the NFC support and the Redmi Note 8T appears to be filling that void. The Redmi Note 8T has an NFC support and is one of the very few devices to have such a feature in the price bracket it is being offered at.

5. OS

As far as the OS is concerned, the Redmi Note 8T comes with Android 9 Pie out of the box with MIUI 10 on top of it. Though the company has already started rolling out the MIUI 11 to almost all its devices, the Redmi Note 8T has still not got it and the buyers of the device will have to wait for a while in order to get the latest MIUI update.
