As most of you might know by now, Xiaomi has announced that it will be revealing the Redmi Note 9 series smartphones on the 12th of March. Leaks and rumors so far suggest that the brand will be launching two devices on that day – the Redmi Note 9 Pro and the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max. What about the Redmi Note 9 then? Well, there wasn’t any information on the device up until now. And that changes today, as we have spotted an unannounced Xiaomi smartphone on Geekbench dubbed ‘Xiaomi Merlin’ and we are speculating it to be the Redmi Note 9.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Spotted On Geekbench

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 listing on Geekbench

The benchmark listing of the Redmi Note 9 on Geekbench reveals that it packs the MediaTek MT6769V/CZ processor. Currently, we aren’t sure what processor is this. It could be a new and unannounced chipset from MediaTek. However, our hunch is that the processor listed for the Redmi Note 9 could be a modified version of the MediaTek Helio P90. Anyway, the RAM capacity of the Redmi Note 9 is listed as 6GB. And this is another factor that suggests that ‘merlin’ is a mid-range device and most probably the Redmi Note 9. According to the listing, the Redmi Note 9 runs on the Android 10 operating system. As for the benchmark result itself, the Redmi Note 9 has scored 341 points in the single-core test and 1,263 points in the multi-core test.

Hopefully, more details of the Redmi Note 9 will emerge as the launch nears. Stay tuned to know more.
