Reliance Jio vs Vi vs Airtel: Which Prepaid Pack is Better for You During IPL 2023
With IPL 2023 kicking off soon on Jio Cinema and other channels, here are some of the best prepaid plans for consumers using Jio, Vi and Airtel SIM cards.
Reliance Jio 3GB Prepaid Plans Price and Benefits
Among the three major telcos in India, Reliance Jio is the only operator to offer a 14-day prepaid plan with 3GB of data for Rs 219. The telco also provides 2GB of extra data combined. Essentially, users get 44GB of data for Rs 219 with a validity of 14 days along with unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day.
Jio also offers a 28 days pack for Rs 399 where users can avail of 3GB of high-speed data per day and also claim 6GB of extra data during the validity of the plan. The plan also offers unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day. In addition to this, users get subscriptions to Jio Cinema and Jio TV. The former is required to watch IPL 2023 on mobile.

Jio’s quarterly plan is priced at Rs 999 and offers 3GB of daily data. The pack offers the most value for money with 40GB of extra data along with unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day.
All three Jio 3GB prepaid plans offer unlimited 5G for eligible subscribers along with Jio Cloud and Jio security as benefits.
Vi 3GB Prepaid Plans Price and Benefits
Vi has two 3GB data plans for its subscribers. The telco is also the only one to provide options for more daily data of the three. Let’s look at the two 3GB daily data plans from Vi.
The most affordable Vi 3GB data pack is priced at Rs 359. It comes with 28 days of validity and offers 3GB of daily data per day. The pack also provides 2GB of data delight, which gets activated when your daily data has been exhausted. In addition to this, the Rs 359 Vi prepaid plan also offers unlimited nighttime data between 12 am and 6 am in India. Other benefits include weekend data rollover, unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day. The pack also provides Vi Movies & TV subscriptions.
The other 3GB Vi recharge plan offers 56 days of validity. It is priced at Rs 699 and offers the same benefits found in the Rs 359 plan but with extended validity.

If you want more daily data, you can look at the Vi Rs 409 recharge plan. The pack has a 28-day validity and comes with 3.5GB of daily data. It also offers 2GB of extra data under its Data Delight scheme. There is a Rs 475 recharge plan which offers 4GB of daily data for 28 days. Both, the Rs 409 and Rs 475 recharge plans offer the same benefits as the Rs 359 plan, including weekend data rollover, unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day.
Airtel 3GB Prepaid Plans Price and Benefits
Airtel has only two plans that offer 3GB or more daily data. The most affordable pack of the two is priced at Rs 499. The plan offers 28 days of validity and provides 3GB of daily data. However, there is no extra data provided under this plan like Jio or Vi provide. Airtel does provide a Disney+ Hotstar Mobile subscription for three months and the option to choose one channel found in the Airtel Xtreme app.
Other benefits include unlimited 5G data, Apollo 24×7 Circle subscription, Rs 100 cashback on Fastag, Free Hello Tunes, etc. In case you are wondering, yes, the pack also provides unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day.

The other Airtel 3GB recharge plan is priced at Rs 699 and offers 56 days of validity. It has 3GB of daily data and offers the same benefits as the Rs 499 pack. However, instead of Disney+ Hotstar Mobile, users get an Amazon Prime membership for 56 days.
- Jio and Airtel offer unlimited 5G data to eligible consumers where their 5G networks are available. Vi, on the other hand, has not rolled out its 5G services yet.
- Vi is the only telco providing weekend data rollover, wherein consumers can use their unused data over the following week.
- Vi is also the only telco to provide options for packs with more than 3GB of daily data.
- Vi is the only telecom operator to provide free unlimited data between 12 am and 6 am for consumers.
- Airtel is the only telco providing third-party OTT subscriptions as add-on benefits. Jio used to provide the same but the company has now discontinued its plans that provided Disney+ Hotstar Mobile subscriptions with the 3GB packs.
