Recently, a Samsung smartphone with model number SM-A90x was leaked on GeekBench, and that device was expected to be launched as the Galaxy A90 globally. However, a new tweet from OnLeaks claims something different.

OnLeaks reveals that Samsung will soon launch an R-series smartphone line up, and the SM-A90x, which was up until now expected to launch as the Galaxy A90, will launch as an R-series smartphone instead. OnLeaks, however, hasn’t revealed the exact name of this upcoming R-series smartphone. OnLeaks says that there are two R-series smartphones under the pipeline. Both of them have a huge display and a triple-camera setup. One of these smartphones will have 5G connectivity, and the other will come with a unique camera feature.

Ice Universe has also put out a tweet regarding the Galaxy A90 (which is the above-mentioned R-series smartphone), revealing that it will come with a 5G version, and the smartphone will feature a 45W fast charging option.

What Do We Know So Far About the Upcoming R-series Smartphone (Galaxy A90)?

The GeekBench listing reveals that the Galaxy A90 features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 SoC and 6GB of RAM. The Snapdragon 675, as you might know, has eight Kryo 460 CPU cores, and Adreno 612 GPU.

Apart from the GeekBench listing, and the information revealed by OnLeaks and Ice Universe, there isn’t anything else we know about the upcoming R-series smartphone from Samsung.

That being said, you can expect the smartphone to feature a display with a screen size above 6.5-inches. The alleged triple-camera setup of the R-series smartphone can include one camera with a conventional FoV, one ultrawide camera, and a telephoto camera. The smartphone could have a large battery pack, a high-resolution front-facing camera, an in-display fingerprint scanner, Android 9 Pie OS with One UI customization, USB Type-C port, and a premium build quality with glass on both sides of the device.
