Samsung Galaxy Ring was officially showcased at the Galaxy Unpacked 2024 Event that took place in San Jose, California. The company shared a teaser about the health and wellness ring while talking about the fitness features of the newly launched Samsung Galaxy S24, Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus, and Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.

A past leak had revealed that the Samsung Galaxy Ring would be the focus product at the Galaxy Unpacked 2024 event. While that didn’t happen, and Galaxy AI was the showstopper, we now know that the Galaxy Ring is indeed coming soon. While Samsung didn’t delve deep into the Galaxy Ring, previous leaks have revealed some details. Let’s look at the Samsung Galaxy Ring and everything we know about it.

Samsung Galaxy Ring Showcased Alongside Samsung Galaxy S24 Series

As mentioned before, the Samsung Galaxy S24 series was not the only hardware showcased at the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2024 event. The company dropped a subtle yet big teaser toward the tail end of the hour-long Galaxy Unpacked event. The video teaser showcased how the device would look and gave a glimpse of the onboard sensors.

Going by the teaser video, the Galaxy Ring will come with a shiny ceramic or metal build and four magnetic contact points on the inside of the band. There are also two raised ridges next to the contact points to help users put the Galaxy Ring on in the correct position. This is similar to what we have seen on Oura and Evie rings, confirming that Samsung is launching the Galaxy Ring in direct competition with these two.

Apart from the design and the sync between the Galaxy Ring and Galaxy S24 health and wellness features, Samsung didn’t delve much into the Galaxy Ring details. According to the health features announced at the event, the Galaxy Ring will likely be able to monitor sleep apnea symptoms by tracking sleep patterns, SpO2, and heart rate during sleep. The Galaxy Ring is also rumoured to come with ECG and PPG sensors.

While Samsung didn’t reveal the ring’s price, we can expect that it will come with a price tag that matches that of the Oura ring. The Oura Ring starts at $299 (~Rs 25,000).
