Samsung Galaxy S23 Specifications And Features

Samsung is going big with its latest Galaxy S series flagship phones and the leaks have shown us the potential of these devices, along with their capabilities in multiple facets. The company keeps the official features close to its chest, and prefers to have them showcased at the official event, which is just a few days away now. Here is a quick snapshot of the main features that Samsung is expected to offer on the new series this year.

Curved AMOLED Display With Corning Gorilla Victus 2 Durability

Samsung is expected to provide all the bells and whistles on the Ultra variant, and one of them is likely to be a curved AMOLED panel that gets Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection, the first in the market. Curved panels have been preferred on the higher models and Samsung could follow the trends with the Galaxy S23 Ultra as well. As for the other two variants, you are likely to see around 6 to 6.6-inch AMOLED displays but with support for Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate screen.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Pulling the Stops

Qualcomm has released the new Snapdragon 8 Gen chipset which is already in the market with devices like the iQOO 11 5G and Samsung is going to be the next brand to have it for buyers. This new chipset is supposed to be the successor to the 8+ Gen 1 model, but Qualcomm views it as an upgrade on the 8 Gen 1. The new chipset has shown promising signs with better thermal management which results in improved battery life. The performance levels have marginally gone up but it is the overall package that counts here and Samsung will be getting top-end hardware for its next flagship product.

Samsung Joins The 200MP Camera-Wagon

Samsung is reportedly bringing a new 200MP camera on the Galaxy S23 Ultra variant this year which promises to be a big upgrade on the 108MP camera that we got on last year’s Galaxy Ultra model. The new Samsung HP2 sensor is rumoured to be leading the charge of the camera module, accompanied by an ultra-wide sensor and a telephoto lens. Samsung showed its quality with the cameras on the Galaxy S22 Ultra and we expect things to spice up this year.

Other specifications and features

Samsung Galaxy S23, S23 Plus and the S23 Ultra are expected to come with up to 12GB of RAM and 1TB storage with the Ultra variant. Samsung will offer the new OneUI 5.0 based on Android 13 out of the box on all three devices, and include features like IP68 rating and stereo speakers. Rumours suggest that the Galaxy S23 will come with a 3,900mAh battery with 25W charging support, while the Plus and the Ultra models feature a 4,700 and 5,000mAh battery, respectively with support for 45W fast charging speed.
