Samsung is rumoured to launch new smartwatches later this year. According to previous reports, the company will launch the Galaxy Watch 4 in Q2 2021. Samsung is also expected to launch the Galaxy Watch Active 4 as a successor to the Active 2. As we get closer to the launch date, some key details of the upcoming Samsung smartwatches have leaked online. Tipster Nils Ahrensmeier has revealed the screen sizes and model numbers of the two devices. Samsung will launch the Watch Active 4 and Watch 4 in two screen sizes. Samsung is likely to launch the Galaxy Watch 4 in Q2 2021. The company is also rumoured to launch the Galaxy Watch Active 4 later this year.
Ahead of the rumoured launch, the screen sizes and model numbers of the two smartwatches have leaked online. Tipster Nils Ahrensmeier claims that both Samsung smartwatches will come in two different screen sizes. The Watch 4 will have a 42mm and a 46mm screen size. The bigger model is getting 1mm bigger compared to the Watch 3. Both devices have the model numbers SM-R880 and SM-R890, respectively.
He further revealed that the Watch Active 4 will have 40mm and 42mm screen sizes. The 40mm variant has the model number SM-R860, whereas the 42mm has the model number SM-R870.
Tipster Ice Universe had shared more details of the Samsung smartwatches a few months back. He claimed that the upcoming smartwatches will come with Android instead of Tizen. Both wearables will launch in Q2 2021. We can expect Samsung to unveil the two wearables at the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the Galaxy Z Flip 3 launch event in July 2021.
As per a recent Safety Korea listing, the Watch 4 with a 42mm screen will have a 240 mAh battery. This is all the information we have on the two Samsung smartwatches. More details should be out as we get closer to the launch.
