Samsung’s Exynos W930 Chipset Which Could Power Galaxy Watch 6 Series Receives Bluetooth SIG Approval

Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Watch 6 series next month alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5. The upcoming Galaxy Watch 6 lineup is supposed to include two smartwatches namely the Galaxy Watch 6 and the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic. A couple of days back, we at MySmartPrice revealed the renders of the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic. The leaked renders confirmed that the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic will have a circular display with a slightly thick bezel. Additionally, these upcoming smartwatches were spotted at FCC certification. Now, in a recent development, more details about the Galaxy Watch 6 lineup are confirmed courtesy of Bluetooth SIG certification.

Exynos W930 Spotted at Bluetooth SIG Certification

The Bluetooth SIG certification has recently certified the Exynos W930 chipset. This new Exynos SoC is expected to power the Galaxy Watch 6 series. The Exynos W930 will arrive as a successor to the Exynos W920. To recall, the Exynos W920 powered the Galaxy Watch 4 as well Galaxy Watch 5 series. The Exynos W930 chipset carries the model number S5E5515, which is the same as that of the W920. It is speculated that the Exynos W930 could be the higher-clocked version of the existing W920 chipset.

Furthermore, the Bluetooth SIG listing reveals that the Exynos W930 will support Bluetooth v5.3 as well as Wi-Fi with a compatible RF chip. A recent leak also indicates that the Galaxy Watch 6 will pack a bigger battery. As per the certification listings, the Galaxy Watch 6 40mm will pack a 300mAh battery, while the 44mm variant will ship with a 425mAh battery. On the other hand, the two Galaxy Watch 6 Classic models will pack a 300mAh and a 425mAh battery unit. As far as the other key features of the Galaxy Watch 6 go, they are expected to offer 25W wired fast charging and 10W wireless charging support.

The previous leak suggests that the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic will feature a 1.47-inch display with a resolution of 470 x 470 pixels. Furthermore, as we revealed earlier, the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic model will have a physical rotating bezel. The right side of the smartwatch will feature the Home and Back buttons. Additionally, the Watch 6 Classic is expected to be available with multiple strap options.

Currently, Samsung has not revealed any details about the Galaxy Watch 6 series. However, the South Korean smartphone maker has recently confirmed that its newest foldable smartphones will launch in late July. We can expect the company to launch the Galaxy Watch 6 series as well as the Galaxy Tab S9 lineup to launch at the same event.
