Samsung has launched the fifth generation of its foldables which includes the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5 at the Galaxy Unpacked event today in Korea. These new foldables come with the new Flex Hinge design for improved performance. The Galaxy Z Flip5 like its sibling comes with IPX8 support, Armor Aluminum frames, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 applied to both the Flex Window and back cover. The smartphone has been launched globally and is expected to hit India soon.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 comes with 8GB RAM and has options for either 256GB or 512GB storage. It will be available in colours including Mint, Graphite, Cream, and Lavender. Samsung is also launching a range of accessories including a Clear Gadget Case, Flap Eco-Leather Case, Flipsuit Case and easy-to-carry Silicone Case with Ring to create a more personalized look.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 has been priced at USD 999.99 for the 256GB RAM variant and USD 1,119.99 for the 512GB RAM variant.

The Galaxy Z Flip5 comes with the new Flex Window, which is 3.78 times larger than the previous generation. It provides more customization options, including informative and graphical clocks that can match the face design of a user’s Galaxy Watch6 series. When closed the Flex Window offers quick access to useful information. With Widgets, users can check the weather, control music playback and listen to their favourite music with Media Controller. Plus, easily check notifications and access Quick Settings for Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
The Galaxy Z Flip5 comes with a 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X 120Hz Adaptive refresh rate Infinity Flex Display with 2640 x 1080 resolution. The cover display is a 3.4-inch Super AMOLED 60Hz panel with 720 x 748 resolution 306 pixels per inch. It runs on the newest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset with 8GB RAM and options for 256GB or 512 GB internal storage.
For battery, it comes with 3,700mAh dual batteries that support 25W fast charging. It also features Fast Wireless Charging 2.0 and Wireless PowerShare for reverse charging other devices. The device is IPX8 water and dust resistant ensuring that particles are kept out of the hinge. It comes with a fingerprint reader on the side and has dual-SIM provisions with one Nano SIM and one eSIM. It runs on Android 13 with One UI 5.1.1 skin on top of it.
For cameras, it has a 10MP Selfie Camera with F2.2 aperture and 85-degree FOV. On the back, it has a 12MP Ultra Wide Camera with F2.2 aperture and 123-degree FOV. Users can take selfies with the rear camera thanks to the larger Flex Window along with hands-free photos from creative angles with FlexCam. The Galaxy Z Flip5 adds AI improvements to the camera and low-light photos are with improved Nightography. The AI-powered image signal processing (ISP) algorithm corrects any visual noise that typically spoils low-light images while enhancing details and colour tone. The phone features digital 10X zoom which ensures users can take long-distance photos as well.
