Sony has announced that the PlayStation 5 will be available at an attractive discount from July 5 till August 7. During the offer period, the standard disc edition of the PS5 will be available with a discount of Rs 7,500. This will bring the price down to Rs 47,490. It is a limited-period discount directly from the brand and doesn’t involve any specific card or coupons. However, customers need to shop from eligible retailers for the discount.
Sony PlayStation 5 (PS5) To Get a Rs 7,500 Discount for a Limited Period
Sony has announced a limited-period discount for its latest and greatest gaming console – PlayStation 5 (PS5). Notably, Sony launched the PS and PS5 Digital Edition in 2020, but it didn’t arrive in India until 2021. However, due to supply shortage, Sony has been restocking the new console periodically in the country and even hiked the price by Rs 5,000 in November 2022 due to dwindling global economic conditions.
It seems that the supply woes of Sony are over now, and it has now started offering deals and offers to customers instead of focusing on just making the console available. The PS5 launched for Rs 49,990 for the standard disc edition and Rs 44,990 for the Digital Edition. After the hike, it retailed at Rs 49,990 and 54,990 for digital and standard editions, respectively.
Sony will now offer the standard disc edition of the console for Rs 7,500 less at Rs 47,490 from July 25 to August 7. It is the lowest-ever pricing for the standard edition PS5 directly from the brand itself. The offer brings the price lower than the original launch price of the console. However, interested buyers need to pick the console from eligible retailers listed below to avail of the offer.

Previously, Flipkart offered the disc edition for as low as Rs 45,115 to Flipkart Axis cards and Rs 47,500 to other bank card users. However, it also included discounts from Flipkart SuperCoins and Rs 1,000 off prepaid orders. The new offer announced by Sony is a direct discount and doesn’t require any specific card or coupons to avail. Interested buyers can purchase at the retailers mentioned above and grab the discounted price right away during the offer period.
