The Mughal emperor Jalal-ud-din Muhammad Akbar, also referred to as Akbar the Great, is a figure about whom we have all heard stories. In the current political landscape of the country, Akbar is been in the news, mostly for the wrong reasons. Several TV series and films on him have been produced. Jodhaa Akbar, starring Hrithik Roshan as Emperor Akbar and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as Rajkumari Jodhaa Bai, was released in 2008. The movie was a hit among the masses. Later in 2013, Zee TV brought the fictitious story of Jodhabai and Akbar love story on television in Rajat Tokas and Paridhi Sharma helmed the serial Jodha Akbar. The well-known streaming service is now adding the web series “Taj: Divided by Blood” to its OTT lineup.

Plot
The producers claim that Taj – Divided by Blood would depict King Akbar’s reign as he searches for a good heir to carry on his illustrious history. The show dramatises the rise and collapse of the succeeding generations, showcasing the great dynasty’s beauty and savagery, their love of the arts, poetry, and architecture, as well as their incredibly callous actions about their own family in the pursuit of power.
