Tecno, so far in 2023, announced some of the most interesting smart lineups. Whether it’s about the company’s first foldable phone, Tecno Phantom V Fold (first impressions) launch at Mobile World Congress 2023 or Tecno Camon 20 Premier (Review) with an interesting design and 108MP ultra-wide sensor, or the recently launched Pova 5 Pro with RGB LED lights on the back.
The company has added another interesting product to its portfolio called the Tecno Phantom Ultimate. It’s a rollable smartphone that expands its display sideways to provide a large screen. However, it’s a concept device which means the product will not be available commercially. Here is everything we know about the Tecno Phantom Ultimate.

We are not sure when the rollable phones will be commercially available but brands like OPPO and Motorola have showcased how they will look and feel like. Tecno is another brand to join the club.
The Tecno Phantom Ultimate is a rollable phone that features a single drive motor system because of which it unfurls its display from 6.55-inch to 7.11-inch in just 1.3 seconds. The company states that it does not take much time to expand its display, unlike the other concepts.
A YouTube video gives us a closer look at the Phantom Ultimate. The video showcases that the device will have a button top. Once pressed the device will start rolling out its display from the left side. To take it back to its original form, user will need to do a three finger swipe gesture.
When rolled out, the phone boasts a 7.11-inch LTPO AMOLED with 2,296 x 1,596 pixel resolution and 388 PPI. The display is also said to offer a 100% DCI-P3 color gamut. It is 9.93 mm thick but the company states that it will be easy to hold in one hand.
The back of the phone will have an external display and a triple rear camera setup. It has a book-roll design on the back that is made specially so that there are no accidental slips during extension.
The company states that the device will have advanced software to provide users with a rich experience on the Phantom Ultimate.
With Tecno taking part at IFA Berlin 2023, it will not be surprising if the device is showcased at the event. After all, IFA is all about concepts and the latest technologies. This is the second concept device after Tecno Phantom Vision V that give us a preview of what future of the devices could be like.
