After launching three budget-oriented smartphones already, Realme is now working on yet another smartphone. If you’re not aware, Realme is a sub-brand from Oppo which largely focuses on budget-oriented devices in the Indian market. The company has already made a huge name thanks to premium internals and well-built design at an affordable price tag. The brand is now planning to launch the third iteration of their smartphone later this year. Realme’s CEO Madhav Sheth has now teased a key aspect of the device in his recent tweet.

Realme 3 or 3 Pro to feature Helio P70 Chipset and VOOC Fast Charging

Oppo’s Realme will launch two smartphones in the coming weeks – Realme 3 and Realme 3 Pro. Just days after the launch of MediaTek Helio P70, Realme announced on twitter that it will be the first brand to launch a device with this powerful chipset. It was recently confirmed that one of the upcoming Realme smartphones will, in fact, be the device to feature the latest MediaTek Helio P70 chipset. In a recent tweet, Sheth revealed another key aspect of the device yet again. According to his tweet, Realme 3/ Realme 3 Pro might feature Oppo’s proprietary VOOC fast charging. To recall, the VOOC fast charging has been recorded to offer incredibly quick top-up times. Tests carried out on the Oppo Find X Lamborghini edition have resulted in 0%-100% charging in just 35 minutes using a Super VOOC 50W charger.

Realme 3/Realme 3 Pro will not be the first mid-range smartphone to come with this technology. Oppo has already used it in their recently launched mid-range Oppo F9 Pro. Considering this is a premium technology, we’re speculating the new Realme’s Pro variant to feature it. Realme 3/ Realme 3 Pro is expected to sport a teardrop notch on the display with an aspect ratio of 19:9. As already mentioned, the device will feature the latest MediaTek Helio P70 chipset paired with 4/6/8 GB of RAM and 64/128 GB of internal storage. The onboard memory is expandable via MicroSD. Apart from this, we don’t have any other information about the device as of now. Since the official launch is nearing, we might see more teasers and leaks to come forward.

Realme Phones To See a Price Hike Post-Diwali

Apart from teasing the key feature of Realme 3, Madhav Sheth also hinted at the possible price hike of the Realme devices post-Diwali. These devices include Realme 2 Pro, Realme 2, Realme C1 and other budget smartphones from the brand. It seems like the brand is facing tough times in sustaining the budget price of its smartphones. According to the Sheth, this is largely due to the falling rate of rupees and company’s thin margins. There is a good chance that the brand will hike the prices of its smartphones after Diwali if they’re not able to come up with a solution. If you’re not aware, Realme’s biggest competitor Xiaomi also followed the same path lately. Even the recently launched Redmi 6A and Redmi 6 will see a price hike after a couple of months. Previously, Xiaomi increased the price range of Redmi Note 5 Pro and Mi TV 4 by Rs 1,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively.

Realme smartphones are dominating big budget players like Xiaomi, Asus, Honor and the recently joined Nokia. With the price hike, the brand might face tough time holding that position since it is relatively new. With that said, the brand might be able to come up with a solution. The price hike information should be taken lightly as of now.
