Vivo is rumoured to launch its first clamshell-style foldable phone soon. The company is likely to call the foldable phone the Vivo X Flip. As per reports, the phone will debut in China and might make it to global markets. Vivo has not confirmed any details about the same. However, a new leak suggests that the Vivo X Flip launch is imminent. The foldable phone from Vivo has been spotted on the Google Play Supported Devices list for the first time.

Vivo X Flip Official Moniker Revealed Via Google Play Certification
The Vivo X Flip will be a premium foldable smartphone. It is expected to launch soon in China to take on the OPPO Find N2 Flip and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4. Ahead of its launch, the X Flip has been spotted on the Google Play certification website. The listing reveals that the phone has the model number V2256A. It also confirms the official moniker of the device.
Unfortunately, the listing does not confirm any other details of the foldable phone from Vivo. However, the phone’s recent 3C listing confirms that the phone will offer support for 44W fast charging out of the box.
The Vivo clamshell-style foldable phone was also spotted on the Geekbench website. It confirmed that the device will feature the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. The variant of the X Flip listed on Geekbench had 12GB of RAM. We can expect it to offer up to 256GB or 512GB of storage.
The listing also revealed that the X Flip will run Android 13 out of the box. It will have a layer of Funtouch OS 13 or Origin OS 3 depending on the market of its launch. Some other details of the foldable phone have leaked as well. It is said to feature a 6.8-inch Full HD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. There will be a hole-punch cutout at the top centre for the front camera. As expected, the phone will have a cover screen but its dimensions remain under wraps.
On the outside, there will be a dual-camera setup. The phone will feature a 50MP main camera and a 12MP ultra-wide camera. It is also said to pack a 4400mAh battery. Other details of the X Flip are unknown at the moment. The phone is expected to launch in China in April. However, there is no official confirmation of the same.
