Vodafone Idea (Vi) has partnered with Team Vitality–the French esports organisation– to boost the esports ecosystem in India. Team Vitality, also known as Vitality, is a Paris-based esports organisation which is very popular in professional gaming globally. The organization has rosters and content creators. operating in various esports titles.

The announcement was made official by Vi earlier today. Referring to a ‘State of India Gaming Report 2022,’ the press release mentioned that the Indian esports industry is projected to reach $140 million by 2027.

With this strategic partnership, the two brands are teaming up to generate exciting opportunities and heightened exposure for esports fans and gaming enthusiasts. This partnership will include brand sponsorships, content collaborations, gaming events, and unique experiences on an unprecedented scale.

Vi and Team Vitality Collaboration Announced: All You Need to Know

This partnership will enable Vi users to engage in esports and provide them with exclusive entry to prominent Team Vitality tournaments and teams. The partnership is set to open up avenues for emerging esports talents nationwide, granting them access to professional players, master classes, meet-and-greets with esports stars, and various other exciting opportunities.

Vi already has a presence in the mobile games segment, providing an extensive array of hyper-casual mobile games to users through Vi Games on the Vi App. On the other hand, Team Vitality is an internationally famous esports organization and by partnering with Vitality, Vi intends to enhance its emphasis on esports in India.

Recently, Vi Games entered the esports realm by organizing well-attended free-to-play tournaments featuring popular games such as Call of Duty: Mobile, Free Fire Max, Asphalt 9, Clash Royale, and more.

“We are excited to partner with one of the leading esports organizations of the world – Team Vitality. Together, we aim to drive and democratize access to the esports ecosystem in India. In the coming months, we will introduce some exciting esports and other youth-centric content for our consumers to experience,” said Avneesh Khosla, CMO of Vi in a press statement.

On the domestic front, Team Vitality’s entirely Indian Call of Duty: Mobile (CODM) squad secured a position among the top 16 teams worldwide, earning qualification to compete in the CODM World Championship 2023 held in Atlanta, US from December 15th to 17th. The team also secured the qualification for the 2022 edition of the CODM World Championship.

In 2020, Team Vitality made its first foray into the Indian market by roping in popular gaming content creators, namely, Nischay ‘Live Insaan’ Malhan, Rachit ‘Rachitroo’ Yadav, Nitin ‘Classified YT’ Chougale, Shagufta ‘Xyaa’ Iqbal and Pratik ‘Aurum’ Mehra who have a cumulative YouTube base of 20 million subscribers.
