Vu’s TV portfolio in India is quite extensive. This product lineup is now being expanded further with the release of four new 4K Smart TVs. Part of the Vu Premium Android TV range, the new 4K TV’s aim to offer an “unsurpassed entertainment experience.” The TV’s are slated to go on sale on Flipkart starting tomorrow, 14 March 2019.
Vu Premium Android 4K TV Features
The first of the four 4K TVs launching tomorrow offers a 43-inch screen. The rest are 50-inch, 55-inch, and 65-inch TVs respectively. All four of these offer support 4K HDR10 content and are loaded with top-end features such as Dolby Vision, Dolby Audio, Android 8.0 Oreo-based UI and full access to the Google Play Store.
From the outside, the TVs seem to be built quite sturdily. They are said to make use of “titanium grey material” which is just marketing lingo for a metallic stand. Regardless, the overall aesthetic seems to be quite modern. There is also enough functionality here as the TV is said to offer Wi-Fi support along with USB, HDMI, and AV ports.
To deliver a high-quality visual experience, the TVs combine 4x upscaling, smooth motion ratio, adaptive contrast, MPEG noise reduction along with gamma reduction. For sound, the TVs come with built-in box speakers that make use of Dolby MS12 Audio and Dbx-tv sound enhancement technology.
From what we can tell, the Tv comes with a close to stock Android 8.0 Oreo experience. To make the UI and experience more interactive, Vu will ship its ActiVoice Remote that comes with dedicated buttons for YouTube, Google Play Store, and even one for triggering the Google Assistant. The remote comes with a microphone that will allow users to give voice commands to perform voice searches, discover content, and even control other supported smart services via the TV. Other certified apps that come preloaded on these TVs include Hotstar, Eros Now, ZEE5, SonyLIV, and Hungama.
Vu Premium Android 4K TV Price in India
On Vu’s official site, the 43-inch Premium Android 4K TV is said to have an MRP of INR 43,000, the 50-inch model is priced at INR 51,000, the 55-inch variant costs INR 59,000, and the 65-inch model is priced at INR 1,10,000. With that said, Flipkart’s promo page for these TVs mentions that their price starts off from INR 30,999. While it is likely that the retail price of these TVs will be less than the listed price mentioned above, a price drop of about INR 12,000 presumably for the 43-inch model is a bit far-fetched. If the actual price of the base model is indeed INR 30,999, we could be looking at a first-time launch offer that may only be up for a limited period. We should get more clarity once the TVs go on sale tomorrow.
