HyperOS: Features

For those who don’t know, HyperOS was first introduced back in October 2023 to replace MIUI and is based on Linux and the self-developed Xiaomi Vela. Xiaomi Vela is open-source based on the NuttX real-time operating system. It is a lightweight OS and has resource management capabilities to work with different device configurations.

HyperOS also comes with improved connectivity and multitasking capabilities and includes the MiSans font system for global users, a new UI design, the use of AI for the unification of connected devices (with the help of HyperMind), and much more.

In addition to this, Xiaomi is all set to launch the Xiaomi 14 in India on March 7, which will come with HyperOS out of the box. We expect it to include Leica-backed cameras, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, 90W fast charging, and more. Unfortunately, there’s no word about the Xiaomi 14 Ultra’s India debut at the moment.
