Xiaomi could soon launch a new affordable smartwatch under the Mi Watch series. The Mi Watch Lite has been spotted on the FCC website, revealing the key specifications and design. Mi Watch Lite with the model number RedmiWT02 will have a square-shaped screen, compared to other Mi Watch designs that sport a circular dial. The US FCC listing of Mi Watch Lite further reveals that the smartwatch will have features like 24-hour heart rate monitoring, a 1.4-inch colour display, etc.

Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite was previously spotted on UL (Demko) Certification, which only confirmed the moniker, model number, and few other details. The latest US FCC listing of Mi Watch Lite reveals major specifications and features of the smartwatch.

Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite will sport a 1.41-inch colourful HD display with touchscreen support. As mentioned earlier, the watch will have a square-shaped screen. Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite will also come with support for screen auto-brightness that will make use of the ambient sensor to adjust the brightness levels depending on the surrounding light.

The smartwatch will have a battery capacity of 230 mAh and will be compatible with devices running on Android 4.4 and iOS 10.

Mi Watch Lite will also feature support for multiple fitness modes. The certification website does not reveal these modes but we can expect Mi Watch Lite to come with fitness modes like cycling, walking, running, etc. There is also support for swimming stoke recognition and water resistance up to 50 meters.

Based on the model number, it is speculated that Mi Watch Lite could be a global version and could be launched as Redmi Watch in some countries. A Redmi smartwatch with the model number REDMIWT01 recently received the MIIT certification. There is no word on the Mi Watch Lite at the time of writing this.
