Like most Chinese technology players, Lenovo showed great strategic foresight when it chose to buy Motorola Mobility, even as Satya Nadella chose to exit the smartphone business to raise the stock price by a quarter of a point and appease Microsoft's stockholders. Although Lenovo phones lack the brand appeal and trust associated with the Motorola brand, the company nevertheless has some great phones in the ever-saturated budget line-up. The sub-7000 rupee segment is especially difficult and populated with cheaper phones with equally cheaper MediaTek SoCs, but Lenovo has nevertheless fielded models such as Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus that feature Qualcomm Snapdragon SoCs, which is a rarity in this price range.
