Infinix Unveils XOS 16 With a Focus on Simplicity, AI Productivity, and Long-Term Device Health

Infinix has announced XOS 16, its latest mobile operating system, positioning it as a cleaner, AI-first interface designed to reduce friction in everyday smartphone use. Rather than chasing feature overload, the company says XOS 16 is built around simplifying daily tasks, improving battery longevity, and offering more meaningful personalisation.

At the core of XOS 16 is a redesigned interface built around what Infinix calls a clutter-free visual language, paired with fluid animations and a new Glow-space theme. The focus is on keeping commonly used actions easily accessible while reducing visual noise across the lock screen, home screen, and system UI.

AI Tools Aimed at Everyday Productivity

XOS 16 introduces a suite of AI-driven tools designed to turn intent into action with minimal steps. Features such as One-Tap FlashMemo allow users to convert notes into reminders, events, routes, or calls instantly, while Ask Folax and Mind Hub focus on capturing and organising ideas in a single tap. AI Writing tools assist with refining messages, and AI Suggestions adapt to usage patterns to surface relevant apps or actions at the right time, all accessible through a dedicated One-Tap-to-AI panel.

Smarter Content Consumption and Battery Management

Infinix is also leaning into efficiency improvements. YouTube Summary offers quick video highlights to reduce viewing time and data usage, while Video Battery Saver aims to cut power consumption during extended streaming sessions. On the hardware side, XOS 16 introduces Bypass Charging, which powers the phone directly during heavy use to reduce heat build-up, along with Battery Self-Repair technology that claims to extend battery lifespan by up to 1 to 1.5 years.

Cross-Device Sharing and Outdoor Reliability

XOS 16 adds cross-ecosystem media sharing through Touch Transfer for iPhone, enabling photo transfers via NFC without requiring an internet connection. The OS also introduces motion and touch intelligence features aimed at real-world usage, including Motion Sickness Relief Mode for travel, rain and waterproof bag touch optimisation, and sweaty hand recognition to reduce accidental inputs.

Security and Gaming Enhancements

On the security front, XOS 16 includes a Remote Enable Find My Device feature that continues to track a phone even if the SIM card is removed. While gaming is not the central narrative, the OS does introduce frame interpolation, AI-based gaming controls, and a new Gameshift immersive gaming zone aimed at improving stability and user control during longer sessions.

Availability

XOS 16 will roll out across upcoming Infinix smartphones, with a phased update planned for eligible existing devices. The list of supported models is expected to be announced closer to the rollout timeline.
