After unveiling a plethora of devices under the Redmi K40 series, Xiaomi is preparing for the K50 series launch. The company is yet to announce the K50 series launch date. However, the rumour mill claims that the Redmi K40 series successor models will debut in China in December 2021. We might also see the Redmi K50 series smartphones debut in International markets under the Xiaomi, Poco branding. While we wait for some more official details, the specifications of two alleged Redmi K50 Gaming series phones have leaked online. Redmi K50 Gaming series specifications tipped

The Redmi K50 series launch date remains unknown at the moment. However, the specifications of two Redmi gaming devices codenamed Matisse and Rubens have leaked. Starting with Xiaomi Matisse (L10), the device will have three regional variants for its launch in China, India and other global markets, according to XiaomiUI. As per the IMEI listing, the Redmi smartphone has the model numbers 21121210C, 21121210I and 21121210G. The report further states that this device could launch as Redmi K50 Gaming/ Redmi K50 Gaming Pro in China and Poco F4 GT in other markets.

XiaomiUI claims that although the model numbers suggest a December 2021 launch, Redmi might not be able to release the device in time, owing to the device’s software still being under development. This device is rumoured to feature the new MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC and a 120Hz/ 144Hz OLED display. The screen will feature an in-display fingerprint scanner from Goodix or FPC.

In terms of optics, Xiaomi Matisse will have a quad-camera setup. It will feature a 64MP Sony IMX686 sensor, a 13MP ultrawide camera, an 8MP OmniVision OV08856 telemacro camera and a 2MP depth sensor. There is also a variant with a 108MP Samsung ISOCELL HM2 sensor.

Xiaomi Rubens, on the other hand, has the model number 22041211AC and is likely to be reserved for the Chinese market. It could debut as Redmi K50 Gaming Standard Edition with the rumoured MediaTek Dimensity 7000 SoC. It will have a triple-camera setup on the back with a 64MP Samsung ISOCELL GW3 camera. The device is months away from its launch and is expected to debut in April 2022.
