Apple recently unveiled the Apple MacBook Air powered by M3 chip. We have now spotted the Apple M3-powered MacBook models (both 13-inch and 15-inch) on the Geekbench 6 benchmark database. The MacBook Air M3 scored 3,157 points in the single-core round of the benchmark test. Whereas, in the multi-core round, it scored 12,020 points.
The benchmark listing reveals the presence of an Apple M3 processor with an octa-core CPU (at 4.05GHz base frequency) and a 10-core GPU. The listing suggests that the MacBook Air M3 features 16GB of RAM, 128KB L1 instruction cache, 64KB L1 data cache, and 4MB L2 cache.
Apple MacBook Air M3 Gets 20% Performance Improvement Over Predecessor
Compared to the previous generation M2 MacBook Air model, the latest model scored about 20% more in the single-core round and 18% in the multi-core round.
Each performance core of Apple M3 is clocked at 4.05GHz frequency compared to 3.48GHz on the Apple M2, which can be attributed to the performance improvements visible in the Geekbench scores. Take a look at the score comparison chart.
For those who don’t know, the MacBook Air M3 comes in two sizes, 13-inch and 15-inch. These laptops feature True Tone Liquid retina display with 500nits peak brightness. Users get an option to choose between 8GB, 16GB, or 24GB memory and 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, or 2TB storage options. The MacBook Air M3 ships with MacOS Sonoma out of the box.
