Apple just announced that it is holding a special ‘Let Loose’ event on May 7 at 7:30 pm IST. Apple’s upcoming event will be virtual. While details are hidden, the launch teaser shows an Apple Pencil, which hints at the arrival of new iPad models and an Apple Pencil next month.
Apple Let Loose Event: What Can We Expect
Apple’s iPad Air and iPad Pro models are long due for a refresh and it seems that the wait is finally coming to an end. To recall, a previous report hinted at the arrival of the new iPad models in May and this is finally happening.

The company is expected to unveil the iPad Pro 2024 models at the upcoming event. Similar to the iPad Pro 2022 lineup, the 2024 models could come in two screen sizes – 11 inches and 12.9 inches.
The Apple iPad Pro is expected to feature a thinner build with a redesigned camera hump. Also, there are rumours of Apple switching to OLED displays for the iPad Pro, a first for an iPad. With the OLED displays with the LTPO tech, the iPad Pro might come with a higher price tag compared to its predecessor. These could be powered by the latest M3 chipset
Apple is also expected to refresh the iPad Air lineup. There are rumours that the iPad Air 2024 model will also arrive in 10.9-inch and 12.9-inch screen sizes. The iPad Air 12.9-inch variant will be a new addition to the lineup and will probably cater to people looking for a bigger-screen tablet without having to spend a lot with the Pro model.
Apple’s teaser includes a Pencil, which suggests that the company might finally unveil the Apple Pencil (3rd Gen). It is rumoured that the upcoming Apple Pencil might feature Find My integration. The company is also expected to launch a new Magic Keyboard. We will have to wait until May 7 to see what Apple has up its sleeves, so, stay tuned.
