ASUS ROG Phone 8 Series India and Global Launch Teased

ASUS has started teasing the launch of the ASUS ROG Phone 8 series smartphones in India.

ASUS launched the ASUS ROG Phone 7 and ROG Phone 7 Ultimate gaming smartphones in April 2023. The brand is now planning to their successors. The upcoming ASUS ROG Phone 8 series was spotted in the IMEI listings in August 2023. ASUS later confirmed the chipset of the upcoming ROG Phone 8, ROG Phone 8 Pro, and ROG Phone 8 Ultimate smartphones.

MySmartPrice later spotted the upcoming gaming smartphones on various certification websites, including GeekBench, 3C, and others. Earlier today, our team spotted the ROG Phone 8 series in the Bluetooth SIG listing, hinting at an imminent launch. We also spotted the upcoming ASUS Zenfone 11 Ultra smartphone in the listing. Now, ASUS India has started teasing the launch on X (formerly Twitter).

ASUS ROG Phone 8 Series to Debut Soon

The global account of ROG initially shared the teaser of the upcoming smartphones. Later, the ASUS India handle on X (formerly Twitter) also posted the teaser confirming the India launch of the devices. The teasers shared by the brand reveal the camera island in a pentagon shape, similar to their predecessors. ASUS will equip the smartphone with triple rear cameras and an LED flash.

The ROG branding can be seen on the camera module apart from the Republic of Gamers branding in the center of the smartphone. ASUS also includes the “Established 2006” branding on the device to showcase its legacy in the industry. A USB Type-C port can be seen on the device’s right side, similar to its predecessors.

The teaser was shared with the caption “Beyond Gaming,” hinting at the capabilities apart from gaming and performance. The existing ROG gaming smartphones are known for their performance, so we can assume that the brand is aiming to pitch them as all-rounders.

ASUS has yet to reveal the exact launch timeline or date of the upcoming ROG gaming smartphones, but we can expect them to make a debut at the CES 2024 event, which is scheduled for January 9. The listing of the ROG Phone 8 and ROG Phone 8 Pro in Bluetooth SIG reveals the moniker of the smartphones. ASUS confirmed that the upcoming smartphones would sport the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.

The GeekBench listing of ROG Phone 8 Ultimate revealed that it scored 2235 points in single-core and 7098 points in multi-core tests. The listing also divulges that the chipset will pair with up to 24GB of RAM. The listing also confirms that it will run on Android 14 out of the box. The 3C listing of the ROG Phone 8 series on the other hand, revealed that the phones will support 65W wired fast charging tech.
