The new Pixel Feature Drop is rolling out to supported devices and Pixel smartphones running Android 14 starting today. The rollout will be carried out in a phased manner depending on the device and carrier over the next few weeks.

Pixel Phone New Features

The Pixel 7 series gets the much-awaited Circle to Search functionality in the latest update. The feature simplifies the process of looking up information about any image, text, or video. The latest update also brings an improved call screen to all Pixel phones running Android 14. Users will now see a Hello card on the call screen when the caller is silent and prompt the caller to speak. In case users are unable to answer the screened call immediately, Google Assistant will let the caller know that you are busy.

Another feature that’s coming to Pixel phones from the Galaxy S24 series is the ability to post high-resolution videos and images as Reels or posts on Instagram. Pixel phone users can now share stunning 10-bit HDR videos directly to Instagram as Reels and ultra HDR photos as posts.

New Features for Pixel Watch and More

The new Pixel Feature Drop is also bringing several features from the Pixel Watch 2 to the first-generation Pixel Watch. The Pixel Watch is getting Pace Training and Heart Zone Training features for improved workout guidance. Users can set personal targets and turn on notifications and voice alerts.

The new update also brings auto stop, auto start, and a new interface for workout tracking. The first-gen Pixel Watch can now automatically detect activities like running, walking, elliptical, spinning, outdoor bike, treadmill, and rowing.

Google has also added support for public transit directions on the Pixel watch with the latest update. The first-gen Pixel Watch can now show different transit options, real-time departure times, and a compass-enabled map view.

Additionally, the new update also adds the ability to share a specific app instead of the entire screen during a video call on Pixel phones, tablets, and Fold. Google has also added an intuitive device pairing process that lists the previously paired devices for quick pairing. Pixel users can now also add handwritten annotations to Google Docs using their hand or stylus. Lastly, the Gboard now minimises when it detects voice input to optimise screen space.
