Google Pixel 9 Series: Design

As per the leaks, the Google Pixel 9 series smartphones will feature a flat-edge design. These handsets will accommodate the volume rockers and power buttons along the right edge. Google appears to be done with a visor-shaped camera module and with the Pixel 9 series, the company seems to be going with a wide-pill-shaped camera module.

The Google Pixel 9 will arrive as the successor of the Google Pixel 8 and will offer a 6.03-inch flat display, as per a report by 91mobiles. Similar to its predecessor, the upcoming Pixel 9 will reportedly offer a dual-rear camera setup, which will likely include a wide-angle sensor and an ultra-wide-angle lens.

The Google Pixel 9 will reportedly measure around 152.8×71.9×8.5mm. Including the camera bump, the thickness of the device might be around 12mm. The Google Pixel 9 leaked renders showcase the device in a black colour, but we can expect the Mountain-view tech giant to launch it in other colour options as well.

Google Pixel 9 Pro

The Google Pixel 9 Pro isn’t the successor of the Pixel 8 Pro. It will have a smaller screen and will be a compact-sized handset with a telephoto camera. The smartphone is tipped to feature a 6.1-inch flat display, as per a report by 91mobiles.

The Google Pixel 9 Pro will reportedly be equipped with a triple rear camera setup, which might include a wide-angle camera, an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a telephoto lens. The handset is tipped to measure 152.8×71.9×8.5mm. It will be around 12mm thick, including the camera bump.

Google Pixel 9 Series: Expected Features, Specifications

The Google Pixel 9 series handsets will most likely be powered by Google’s in-house Tensor G4 processor. The Tensor G4 reportedly has codename zuma pro and is said to bring minor upgrades over the Tensor G3 (codenamed zuma). The memory and storage configurations of the Google Pixel 9 series are not known. However, we can expect Google to equip these devices with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 or UFS 3.1 storage.

The Google Pixel 9 series handsets are expected to feature support for up to 15W Qi2 wireless charging technology. Google might also ship these devices with an all-new Adaptive Touch feature, which would adjust the touchscreen sensitivity based on factors like your environment, activities or screen protector.

The Google Pixel 9 series will come pre-loaded with Android 15, which is expected to be announced at Google I/O in summer. These smartphones might also feature support for Android 15‘s Powered Off Finder API allowing the compatible devices to be tracked even in a switched-off state.
