Huawei launched the Mate 20 Pro along with three other smartphones in the series at an event in London last month. The China-based company’s Vice President recently announced the arrival of the Mate 20 Pro in India and today we have the exact launch date. The flagship device is reportedly launching on November 27 in India. The Huawei Mate 20 Pro comes with a 5G-enabled Kirin 980 chipset. The smartphone has been well-received outside of the Indian market and the Chinese smartphone maker is hoping to get the same response in India as well.

After the Huawei P20 Pro, Indian users had been eagerly waiting for the Mate 20 series to arrive in India. We are expecting the device to go on sale at Amazon right after the launch.

Featuring the Latest 5G-Ready Kirin 980 Chipset

Introduced earlier this year at IFA, Berlin, Kirin 980 Chipset brings significant improvements over its predecessor. The major highlight of the chipset is that it’s 5G-ready and with India progressing towards the future technology, the premium Huawei smartphone makes a great choice. Huawei Mate 20 Pro is the first smartphone powered by this chipset to arrive in India. Based on the 7nm manufacturing process, the Kirin 980 chipset is more power efficient and is designed for seamless multitasking. Apart from the 5G functionality, Huawei has also added dual NPU to the Kirin 980 chipset for faster AI processing.

Huawei is pitching its latest chipset against the Snapdragon 845 SoC and the Exynos 9810 chipset, which are currently dominating the market. Note that the successor of the Snapdragon 845 is in works and may arrive soon, making it tough for the Kirin 980 to put up a challenge. But, that’s a debate for future. For now, the Kirin 980 underneath Mate 20 Pro’s core looks promising and we will soon get to see if it works for the Indian smartphone users. Now, let’s check out the key features and specifications of the upcoming Huawei smartphone.
