Apple Pulls Down iOS 17.3 Beta 2 Update After Receiving Boot Loop Reports

As mentioned before, iSoftware Updates first reported that Apple had pulled down the latest update soon after the rollout. The company also removed the iPadOS 17.3 beta 2 update. These two beta updates are no longer available for download and Apple is offering the initial iOS 17.3 beta instead to developers. According to iSoftware Updates handle, the issue is affecting both old and new iPhone models as iPhone 12, iPhone 13, iPhone 14, and iPhone 15 model users are experiencing the issue.

According to the report, those who updated their iPhones to the latest iOS 17.3 Beta 2 update had their iPhones bricked. After updating, their iPhones were stuck in a boot loop, which means after restarting they got stuck on the Apple logo rendering them useless.

According to the report, some users were able to fix the issue by rolling back to the previous stable version including the iOS 17.3 Beta 1 or iOS 17.2.1 by using a previous backup. This goes on to affirm that beta updates are not meant to be daily drivers.

The issue happened on iPhones that had the Back Tap feature enabled. Several users with Back Tap disabled reported that they were able to install the iOS 17.3 Beta 2 update without facing any issues. The accessibility feature allows users to run a task by tapping the back panel twice or thrice. These tasks include opening the camera, taking a screenshot, turning on flash, and more. It can be enabled or disabled from Settings > Accessibility > Touch.
