Apple’s upcoming iOS 18 is rumoured to introduce a plethora of AI features, and to facilitate this, Apple is developing a new chip that will drive the forthcoming iPhone 16. The A18 is anticipated to augment the quantity of integrated AI computing cores to bolster the on-device AI capabilities.

iPhone 16’s Neural Engine Will Key to AI Performance

According to a new report, Apple plans to improve add more AI computing cores and improve the performance of the A18 processors on the iPhone 16. It plans to deploy a similar strategy for the M4 chipset, which is expected to power the new MacBooks, according to the report.

This indicates that Apple’s special AI brain, the Neural Engine, is getting even better.

The addition of more neural cores is expected to make iPhone 16 and other Apple devices handle more advanced AI stuff smoothly. But keep in mind the report does not add any more details regarding the exact number of cores.

Apple iPhone 16 Pro: Bigger Display

According to display analyst Ross Young, the forthcoming iPhone 16 Pro is expected to showcase a 6.3-inch display, representing a 0.2-inch expansion compared to the existing iPhone 15 Pro. Likewise, the iPhone 16 Pro Max is projected to get a 6.9-inch display, growing by 0.2 inches compared to the current iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Additionally, it looks like Apple is also changing the design of the upcoming iPhone 16. Leaked renders suggest that the upcoming non-Pro iPhones will feature a vertically aligned camera island on the back, resembling a blend of the camera setups seen on the iPhone X and iPhone 11.
